High-Demand Workshops at JCON EUROPE 2026 – Tickets Available Now

Cologne – JCON EUROPE returns to its venue from April 20-23, once again offering an extensive program for Java enthusiasts. In addition to over 100 speakers and sessions, Monday, April 20, is fully dedicated to hands-on, expert-led workshops.

Each workshop is a two-hour deep dive into cutting-edge technologies and real-world development topics. Participants can choose from a total of seven different sessions across two time slots: 1:00–3:00 PM and 4:00–6:00 PM. A coffee break in between provides room for informal networking.

    • 1 PM: Caching and Beyond – Smarter Data Processing with Java: Christian Kuemmel (MicroStream) introduces modern approaches to efficient data processing in Java, covering advanced caching strategies and techniques to improve application performance and scalability.
    • 4 PM: Building Powerful GenAI Apps with Pure Java: Florian Habermann demonstrates how to create Generative AI applications using pure Java, highlighting tools, frameworks, and practical patterns for integrating AI capabilities into modern Java systems.

    • 1 PM: Break Your Testing Habits: Rick Ossendrijver & Tim te Beek challenge common testing practices and present modern testing strategies, tools, and techniques to improve test reliability and developer productivity.

    • 4 PM: Java Supply Chain Security with Docker: Mohammad-Ali A’rabi explores how to secure the Java software supply chain using Docker, focusing on container security, dependency management, and protecting modern cloud-native applications.
  • Room: Utrecht
    • 1 PM: Think AI is Only for Python? Think Again: Don Bourne & Michal Broz present a hands-on Java AI workshop demonstrating how developers can build AI-powered solutions in Java and integrate modern machine learning workflows.

    • 4 PM: Building Secure, Self-Hosted RAG Systems in Java: Sven Ruppert shows how to implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems in Java while maintaining full control over data and infrastructure through secure, self-hosted architectures.
  • Room: Berlin
    • 1 PM: Modernizing Java Applications with AI-Assisted Workflows: Bruno Borges & Sandra Ahlgrimm explain how AI tools can support the modernization of existing Java applications, improving productivity and accelerating migration and refactoring processes.
    • 4 PM: Maintaining Legacy Applications Using AI Tooling: Cristian Schusztur demonstrates how AI-powered tools can help developers understand, maintain, and evolve legacy systems more efficiently.

Participation in a workshop costs €15.97 (excl. VAT). Early booking is recommended to interested parties, as places are limited and allocated on a “first come, first served” basis. Only one workshop can be booked per time slot to give as many participants as possible the chance to attend.
