Sven Reinck has been programming since childhood and has spent more than twenty years working with software architecture, programming languages, and the question of how developers can understand complex systems. He studied Technical Informatics and Computer Science and has been working for many years as a freelance software developer and IT trainer in the Go and Java ecosystems. A particular focus of his work lies in the visualization of mental software models: ranging from the development of game engines and the labeling of road networks in navigation software, to educational software for programming beginners, and tools for analyzing and visualizing structures in XML Schema. He is currently exploring interactive visualizations of structures and dependencies to make architectural understanding more tangible in everyday software development.
